A Little About Me!

I turned 65 in March 2011, and a little over weight, but we won't go there. I have the greatest respect for all the Doctors, Nurses and staff from the Juravinski Cancer Centre in Hamilton Ontario. Keep up the good work you deserve a pat on the back....

I look at it this way, Chemo is like pumping Liquid Drano through the veins in your body.
My daughter said it in a nut shell

"They're pumping poison into your body to kill something that is killing you"

Welcome to the New Home of RONREYN.com ...

  • I started working when I turned 18, My first real job was in the R.C.A.F. as an Air Frame Technician. I was station at CFB Moose Jaw. My job was to take care of the main part of the aircraft, with the engine and electronics removed. I also became a ham radio operator in Saskatchewan. My station call sign was (VE5WE) and had (VE5PS) for my U.H.F. repeater.
  • I was stationed in CFB Moose Jaw with the Snowbirds aerobatic team and worked on their aircraft's (Tutor CT114) for 10 years. Then moved to Trenton Ontario with the air force and worked on the Boeing 707 and Hercules C130 aircraft at CFB Trenton. My new amateur radio call sign was changed to (VE3IVJ), and (VA3AQ) was issued for my UHF repeater. I retired from the service in 1979.
  • I then moved to Cambridge Ontario and started working for a company (Reuter Stokes Canada Ltd.) that employed 100 people and manufactured nuclear in core detectors for nuclear reactors (mainly Cando). As their maintenance manager, I repaired all the equipment and built serveral jigs and fixtures on the company lathe's and milling machines, I was in charge of 3 people, me, myself, and I. Really sucked when one of us tried to take holidays. After 10 years I left Reuter Stokes when I had an accident with my car on the way to work.
  • I then got into the computer business with several computer companies. About 12 years ago (In Jan 2000) I started working for Homewood Heath Centre as a computer technician in Information Services after getting my A+ certification. Homewood is a mental and addiction hospital located in Guelph Ontario. There I repaired and installed, and maintained over 300 systems and 100 printers, and answered calls at helpdesk for the last 3 years after my cancer treatments ended. I retired in March 30 2011.
  • I went back to Homewood as a volunteer in the library sorting photo's of staff, buildings, and events that date back to 1883.
